Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT), Pune offers degree programmes at the undergraduate (UG) postgraduate (PG) level and doctorate (PhD) level. Besides offering various programmes in Engineering and Technology, the institute also offers a postgraduate programme in Computer Applications – MCA.

VIT BTech Admission Minimum Eligibility Criteria 2018

(A) For Maharashtra State candidates:

  • Aspirants must have passed HSC or its equivalent exam with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects.
  • They must have obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects Or taken together.
  • They must have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates or belonging to Maharashtra State only).
  • Candidates must have acquired a BSc Degree from a Recognized University as defined by UGC. They must also have obtained atleast 50% marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only);
  • They must have acquired a score in MHT-CET 2018 conducted by the Competent Authority.

(B) All India Candidature Candidates, Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidates

  • Aspirants must be an Indian National.
  • They must have passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects.
  • They must have acquired at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) Or in the above subjects taken together;
  • They should have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates Or belonging to Maharashtra State only);
  • They should have acquired a BSc Degree from a Recognized University as defined by University Grants Commission and obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only);
  • They should have a valid score in MHT-CET 2018 or JEE Mains 2018 Paper I.

VIT BTech Admission and Selection Process 2018

The institute does not conduct its own entrance exam. Admissions to BTech programmes at the institute is on the basis of score acquired in MHCET or JEE Main – Paper 1. It is mandatory for all aspirants to register and secure merit number through DTE procedure.

After the scores are declared, students will have to attend the counselling process.

VIT BTech Application Process 2018

  • Aspirants need to fill the online application form for admissions through their respective login IDs which they would be given at the time of applying for the exam being conducted for the course.
  • Aspirants applying for admissions via JEE Main (who could not register for MHT-CET) are required to apply by paying required fees, through CAP under All India Seats or to be eligible for admission under Institutional Quota seats.
  • First and Direct Second Year BTech aspirants need to purchase the Application Kit from the nearest Facilitation Centre on payment in Cash
  • After filling the application form, aspirants need to verify the data filled and correct it if required. The candidate shall take printout of the form and sign it.
  • Then confirmation of Online Application Form and Document Verification at Facilitation Centre by the Candidate in person will be required.
